Guam Nikkei Appreciation Night II - Oct. 10

The Guam Nikkei Association (GNA), with the Guam Community College (GCC) Culinary Program, is hosting its second Appreciation Night event on October 10, 2014, from 4pm-8pm, at the GCC Multi-Purpose Auditorium to raise funds for erecting a monument at the Peace Memorial Park in Yigo.  This monument will honor those Issei, or first generation, Japanese who settled in Guam in the early 1900s, but perished during WWII without given proper burial or recognition.

The GNA overall fundraising goal is $15,000.00 to construct the monument.

GNA is a non-profit organization whose primary goal is to instill the Japanese culture, art, traditions, history, lineage, and customs to succeeding generations of Japanese-Chamorro-Guamanians.  The Association is open to anyone who is interested in this primary goal.
